About Renee

Renee has been working in the Washington, D.C., nonprofit world for 10 years. She’s Director of Digital Strategy at the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence. Before that, she was senior digital editor at Planned Parenthood Federation of America, where she oversaw editorial content and web strategy for Planned Parenthood Action Fund.

Renee helped run communications at the American Association of University Women (AAUW), the League of Women Voters of the United States, and Collective Action for Safe Spaces (CASS). At AAUW, Renee led a social media campaign, called #StandUptoSexism, that won a 2018 EXCEL award from Association Media & Publishing. While at CASS, she led the media and digital advocacy strategy that helped pass the landmark Sexual Assault Victims Rights Amendment of 2014. The legislation was later used as a national policy model. She also helped implement CASS’s anti-harassment campaign with DC Metro, which is now an international model.

Renee was nominated for the Women's Media Center's (WMC) 2013 Social Media Award for her successes in leading digital campaigns around gender equity.
